Tobacco Tax Basic Training Class

FTA, with the participation of state tax agencies and industry, is offering the Tobacco Tax Basic Level Training course for 2015. The basic level course will be held October 18-22, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the Hawthorne Hotel. The GOVERNMENT ONLY session will start on Sunday afternoon (October 18) with registration and continue through Wednesday morning joining the Industry attendees on Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.
The INDUSTRY ONLY session will start on Tuesday evening (October 20) with registration and continue through Wednesday morning joining the Government attendees on Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Instructors will be state employees with expertise in tobacco tax audits and investigations. Representatives of the tobacco industry will also make a presentation to help the participants understand how the distribution system operates. Government attendees are afforded the opportunity to tour a cigarette and OTP manufacturer facility.
