Award for Management and Organizational Initiative in State Tax Administration

PURPOSE:

This award is intended to honor and recognize tax agencies that have designed, developed, and implemented initiatives that improve the management or organization of the diverse responsibilities of a tax agency. The award is designed to encourage excellence in the implementation of programs and systems that aid a state tax agency in the effective use of resources in meeting its mission.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility is limited to the members of the Federation of Tax Administrators.

SUBMISSIONS:

Nominations and entries must be submitted by the chief executive officer of the member revenue agency. The nomination consists of a written explanation of the program (not to exceed 10 pages) discussing the nature, purpose and content of the application, along with its innovative features, impact, strengths, and weaknesses. There is no application form.

Awards will be accepted via email (PDF preferred), a URL link (website) or other electronic means.

Submission materials should not exceed the paper equivalent of 10 pages, although supporting materials of any size (such as manuals or videos) are acceptable. Send your submission by midnight January 15, 2016 to [email protected].

JUDGING:

Entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts. Entries will be judged on the basis of factors such as originality, transferability, productivity improvement, quality and effectiveness. Any customer service component should be noted. The program may be targeted or comprehensive in nature.

SUBMISSION DATE:

PRESENTATION:

The award will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Federation of Tax Administrators to be held June 12-15, 2016 in Annapolis, MD.
