You asked, we delivered: Now you can subscribe to the private library Members Only pages on TaxAdmin.org

For the first time, the Federation of Tax Administrators is opening up the members-only pages of TaxAdmin.org to all government agencies.

Whether you work for a county, municipality, another country or another state agency, your entire agency can have access to FTA’s complete information sharing platform. This is the same access already enjoyed by FTA’s members, the tax agencies in the 50 states, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City.

We know you are eager to have access to this unique library. We want you to be just as eager about the cost.  So we’re making available all the knowledge and information in TaxAdmin.org -- home to the world’s largest collection of tax administration information -- for a flat rate that gives everyone in your organization access.

For a small annual subscription fee, everyone in your agency will have unlimited access to:

✓  FTA’s three indispensable newsletters:
  • The weekly TaxExPRESS summary of current activities in the states and in Congress;
  • the twice-monthly State Tax Highlights, a compilation of every notable judicial proceeding of interest to state tax administrators;
  • By-The-Numbers, a monthly analysis of an economic trend or event, along with revenue estimate updates and a listing of key articles of interest to research economists
✓  Other current information, including past editions of the newsletters and archived and searchable discussions and responses to questions posted on FTA’s E-Lists
✓  Archived information about tax administration practices and policy developments through the years… starting in 1935. [Note: The archive library is still being built, starting with current documents. Older newsletters, bulletins, research reports and proceedings will be added during the coming year.]
✓  Background information and guidance on current shared tax agency projects

Who is allowed to subscribe?

Access is currently limited to US-domestic governments.  Subscribers must be a U.S. city, county, province, state or country, or a U.S. governmental agency.

What does it cost?

A subscription costs $2,000, with a 50% discount for other state agencies/departments and cities, counties, or other provinces with a U.S. Census (or equivalent metric) population of fewer than 250,000.  Subscriptions give access to any authorized user in the subscribing organization.

What can the private sector do?

FTA plans to expand its historical archives in the coming year, and these will soon be available to private-sector law firms, accounting firms, lawmakers, policy organizations, taxpayers and others with a deep interest in older materials.  If you want to be notified when this feature becomes available, send an email to [email protected].

What is FTA, anyway?

The Federation of Tax Administrators has been the sole association that serves the tax agencies in every state since its creation in the mid-1930s. Today membership includes D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.  FTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to advance tax administration through training, education, information sharing and project coordination.
